Mini Microkini

The mini microkini is part of the minimalist two-piece bathing suit family, but is not as raunchy as its cousin, the one with the extreme design. While still having a relatively small amount of fabric that barely covers the wearer’s sensitive areas, the mini is more stylish and acceptable to society.

The best way to describe it would probably be sexy yet chic, a little more sophisticated compared to the extreme ones. But make no mistake, mini micros still expose enough flesh. Apparently, they have more than one classification, with each one decidedly smaller than the previous one. There is the nanokini, which is smaller than the original version. Then there is the picokini, which is even smaller than the nano.

A few tips and tricks on this skimpy beachwear

Similar to other members of the two-piece swimsuit family, these types of bathing suits come in various styles and colors that can be found in great abundance on the Internet and in resort shops all over the world. A general rule in choosing colors is to go with darker shades for areas you wish to de-emphasize and lighter shades for areas you want to expose or highlight.

Some wearers prefer two-piece sets with prints, which is fine. Just remember that prints on a darker background will make you appear slim. In general, opaque, matte style fabrics will slim the body the most, while shiny ones will make the body seem larger. If you do like the idea of shine in a swimsuit but not the enlarging effects, look for a shiny bathing suit in a muted or otherwise dark color.

Aside from colors and prints, you must also consider the details of your bikini. These include ruching, belts, bows, embroidery, beading, and ties. They should be utilized wisely on that part of the body on which you would like to draw attention.

Then there is coverage. Conventional wisdom states that when it comes to swimsuits, less is more. However, more coverage in a two-piece swimsuit is not necessarily the best way to hide figure flaws. For example, applying large fabric to cover an equally large derriere may actually draw unwanted attention to that very section of the body. The basic rule would be this: if a swimsuit fits you comfortably and highlights desirable parts of your body, bare is almost always more beautiful. Therefore, when donning a mini micro, do not worry too much about exposing your flaws. Go with what feels natural.
